On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day this year, the staff at SOLVE geared up to help Willow Creek where Rachel Carson Middle School has been working. They probably did not anticipate hauling away about 17 cubic yards of invasive blackberry (Rubus armeniacus)!!! Thanks to them, the middle school can now fit an extra 150 native plants at the creek site. Straw was also spread out over the newly planted portion of the site to prevent erosion, too.
THANK YOU to the SOLVE staff and family, and our Jesuit Volunteers (AmeriCorps Members) who also helped out!
