The Work Continues at Baltimore Woods

Last week we joined the Learning and Service Together (L.A.S.T) youth group in summer maintenance at Baltimore Woods, and today a new group of kids from the program came to lend their hands. The group had traveled to Portland from Dallas and Eugene Oregon as well as Yakima County Washington in order to make a difference working at various service projects in the area. This morning, they arrived at Baltimore Woods eager to grab shovels, loppers and gloves and excited to get to work. Although summer maintenance can be hot and tiring, this group persevered through the heat and humidity to weed and mulch around the young native plants. At the end of the day, we were all tired and sweaty, but thanks to the work done by the L.A.S.T youth group, the native plants at Baltimore Woods will continue to grow and thrive.
